January 2012

Sight Ministries International

Hello again everyone!  I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a blessed New Year!  2011 was a wonderful year for Sight Ministries and we are looking forward to an even better year in 2012.  Thanks for your interest in this ministry.

We continue to make progress – expanding the Kingdom of God by working with indigenous local pastor or missionaries, using basic eye care as a platform to minister to those who are lost around the world.  We are seeing amazing work in the Church in Kenya – where churches are being planted every couple of months to reach and serve those in need.  We are seeing the poor in Indonesia gather together to worship and pray for their Muslim brother and sisters.  We are seeing the Kuna Nation in Panama come to Salvation.  They all came because of an opportunity to receive an eye exam and glasses, and they got that, but they also got the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and many accepted and are forever changed.  Thanks for your part in this process!  Your faithful prayers, talents, time, and resources are what make it possible!

As I said earlier 2011 was an amazing year.  Our system for meeting the eyeglasses needs of those we see continues to develop.  We started out the year with spherical lenses only between +4.00 and -4.00.  We have added cylinder lenses on all the whole diopters at -1.00 and -2.00 at 90 & 180 axis each.  We are hoping to add a bi-focal capability in 2012.  Thank you again for those that have so faithfully support the development of this system.

In 2011 we had the pleasure of starting new partnerships.  We met Jim Schneider with Eyes of Faith.  If you haven’t heard of Eyes of Faith I would like to strongly encourage you to check them out at - http://www.eyesoffaithoptical.com/home.  We had the pleasure of having Jim on our trip to Kenya this past October.  After he returned he felt the Lord’s leading to start a new innovative promotion called Wear & Share.  Simply put, for every Eyes of Faith frame sold, they donate a complete pair of glasses to be dispensed on the mission field thru Sight Ministries International.  We are excited over the implication of such a program.  This is an easy way for your practice or office to help us with our mission to spread the love of Jesus Christ worldwide.  Check it out - http://www.eyesoffaithoptical.com/wear-share-partners.html

A Vision Expo West Story
A Vision Expo West Story

August 27, 2024

I woke up my wife, Amy, from a very deep sleep on a Sunday morning September 28th, 2008.

“I have an idea to start an eyewear company that honors God.”

Amy rolled over and said, “You’re crazy, go back to bed.”

I convinced her that I wasn’t that crazy and she warmed up to the idea that day. As it turned out, Vision Expo West was happening that same week. “If we are thinking of starting an eyewear company,” she said, “we need to go to Vision Expo.”
